At ENO Healthcare Foundation, we believe that knowledge is healing. Empowerment starts with understanding—understanding your body, your risks, and your options. Empower yourself through awareness and education. ENO aims to break down stigmas, stereotypes, and misconceptions around cancer screening and prevention, especially in underserved and misinformed communities.
Cancer remains one of the leading causes of death in the United States, but many of these deaths could be prevented through early detection and timely treatment. The challenge isn’t just access to care—it’s also a lack of awareness and education.
According to the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) Program of the National Cancer Institute, certain cancers such as colorectal and cervical cancer are still being diagnosed at later stages, particularly in underserved communities. This is often tied to low screening rates. For example, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), only 66% of adults aged 50–75 were up to date with colorectal cancer screening in 2022. This number is even lower among Hispanic (56%) and Black adults (59%).
ENO strives to empower individuals with accurate, culturally relevant information. Informed individuals are more likely to act, and action leads to prevention, early detection, and better survival.
Real strength lies in taking control of your health. At ENO Healthcare Foundation, we aim to dismantle harmful myths that prevent individuals from pursuing potentially life-saving cancer screenings. These misconceptions—such as the belief that colonoscopies are invasive or emasculating, or that certain screenings are only necessary for one gender—can lead people to wrongly assume they’re not at risk.
According to the American Cancer Society, colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the U.S., yet about 1 in 3 adults aged 45 to 75 are not up to date with screening recommendations. Many cite fear, embarrassment, or misinformation as reasons for avoidance. We are committed to breaking these barriers by fostering open conversations, providing accurate information, and promoting early detection.
Hear real stories from survivors, caregivers, and advocates who didn't wait for the worst to happen or for the “We are sorry, it's too late.” news but made a decision to empower themselves through knowledge and made life-saving decisions.
